Meridy Hurt, Yoga Instructor

Meridy has a professional background in Western Medicine and Psychology, but both feet and heart are firmly rooted in the field of Natural Healing.  When Laughter Yoga popped up in her world ten years ago, the appeal was immediate.

Individual health is both intra-personal and inter-personal, a function of both nature and nurture. The family setting provides the earliest input for physical health, spiritual and emotional wellbeing.  As we grow, the larger community and society as a whole begins to have an impact.  Laughter is said to be a universal language and, as such, offers a means of communication between individuals and groupings.

Meridy has explored, studied, taught and played with the idea of active laughter.  This is where we choose to do what the body does when it laughs so that the brain responds (as is completely natural) by flooding that same body with feelings of joy and peace.

It is hard to hold a grudge if we feel good inside.  It is easy to be generous and gentle without feeling vulnerable or weak.  Active laughter requires no comedic credentials;  sense of humor (or lack thereof) is no barrier.  Laughing frees us to be fully human!
